SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 206 GAMBLING GUIDE!

Here we go again, Smuggling Duds Gambling Guide time! Fans should have been treated to a rematch between current Light Heavyweight champ Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier and Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson but an injury picked up by DC meant the bout was scrapped for another day. Not to worry! Let’s do this…

UFC 206

MAIN EVENT
Max Holloway vs. Anthony Pettis (FW)
After losing 3 times in a row at lightweight, one time belt holder and UFC golden Boy Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis dropped to featherweight and defeated Charles Oliveira via submission in round 3. This was no mean feat but his next opponent Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway hasn’t lost in 9 fights, with his last defeat being a decision loss to Conor McGregor in 2013. A lot of sites are making out like this will be a walk in the park for Holloway, we aren’t so sure about that but his hunger and determination will land him more successful shots to take this decision.
PREDICTION: Holloway
METHOD: Decision

Donald Cerrone vs. Matt Brown (WW)
Cerrone was meant to fight on the big NYC 205 card but weight problems meant his scheduled opponent has to be withdrawn. That was Kelvin Gastelum. Crowd pleaser Brown is on a bit of a downward spiral as far as his career is concerned and Cowboy will be out to show Gastelum that he had a lucky escape and probably ruin him with a body kick and take his back. To be specific.
PREDICTION: Cerrone
METHOD: Submission

Cub Swanson vs. Doo Ho Choi (FW)
It could be argued Ho Choi hasn’t faced anyone as tough as Swanson but the fact of the matter is this kid can bang. He may not get the KO but he’ll let Swanson know what he’s about and keep him on the back foot for 3 rounds.
PREDICTION: Ho Choi
METHOD: Decision

Tim Kennedy vs. Kelvin Gastelum (MW)
Depending on who has the better stamina could decide this one as its going to be long boring fight on the ground with both fighters doing what they can to pin the other to the floor and convince the judges they have been the more active. Gastelum might not even make weight again though! Watch this space.
PREDICTION: Kennedy
METHOD: Decision

Jordan Mein vs. Emil Weber Meek (WW)
Mein is back following a short retirement. He may have second thoughts as UFC debutant Weber Meek might just ruin his party.
PREDICTION: Weber Meek
METHOD: TKO/KO

Nikita Krylov vs. Misha Cirkunov (LHW)
Krylov is the favourite for this one but the Latvian is going to shine on the night.
PREDICTION: Cirkunov
METHOD: TKO/KO

Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Drew Dober (LW)
The Canadian will just do enough to get the nod.
PREDICTION: Aubin-Mercir
METHOD: Decision

Valérie Létourneau vs. Viviane Pereira (SW)
Don’t be surprised to see an upset here.
PREDICTION: Pereira
METHOD: Decision

Mitch Gagnon vs. Matthew Lopez (BW)
Another one that on paper could go either way but we’ll say Gagnon via split decision.
PREDICTION: Gagnon
METHOD: Decision

John Makdessi vs. Lando Vannata (LW)
We are going to go with another upset here.
PREDICTION: Vannata
METHOD: TKO/KO

Jason Saggo vs. Rustam Khabilov (LW)
Khabilov has won his last 3 via decision. This won’t be any different.
PREDICTION: Khabilov
METHOD: Decision

Zach Makovsky vs. Dustin Ortiz (FW)
Depends who wants it most on the night as these two are pretty much on the same level.
PREDICTION: Makovsky
METHOD: Decision
