SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 216 GAMBLING GUIDE

Did we absolutely smash it with our last UFC gambling guide? You wouldn’t be reading this if we didn’t. This is a stacked card with some dead certs and a few upsets, just how we like it!

UFC 216

Tony Ferguson vs. Kevin Lee (LW)
Fans and experts are all saying Ferguson takes this one but we aren’t so sure. This main event bout is a lot closer than people are making out in our opinion. The hype, whether it be staged or not, has been pretty entertaining so fingers crossed the fight isn’t a let-down. We’ll probably change our minds minutes before the bell but for now, we’ll go with Ferguson.
WINNER: Ferguson
METHOD: Submission

Demetrious Johnson (c) vs. Ray Borg (FLY)
Rescheduled but no longer a main event bout. Our prediction remains the same. Johnson is one of the best fighters on the planet and it is up to him how he wins before having no choice but to step up in weight division.
WINNER: Johnson
PREDICTION: Decision

Fabrício Werdum vs. Derrick Lewis (HW)
Facing the former champ is possibly Derrick Lewis’s biggest (not literally) task to date. ‘The Black Beast’ possesses knockout power but it would be crazy for Werdum not to utilise his superior Jiu Jitsu and take the Texas native to the mat.
WINNER: Werdum
PREDICTION: Submission

Beneil Dariush vs. Evan Dunham (LW)
Dunham has seen a real resurgence in his career pulling off wins against opponents he probably shouldn’t have beat! Don’t be surprised if he does it again. We won’t be.
WINNER: Dunham
METHOD: Decision

Preliminary Card (FXX)

Tom Duquesnoy vs. Cody Stamann (FW)
Stamann hasn’t faced someone as gifted as Frenchman Duqesnoy and will need the performance of his career if he’s going to upset the bookies. It won’t happen though, Duquesnoy is on a mission up the ranks.
WINNER: Duquesnoy
METHOD: KO/TKO

Will Brooks vs. Nik Lentz (LW)
Former Bellator star Brooks hasn’t exactly lit up the octagon since joining the UFC but should get the win here.
WINNER: Brooks
METHOD: Decision

Bobby Green vs. Lando Vannata (LW)
Green desperately needs a win or else it’ll be back to making money in the lower leagues. He’s a character so we’d like to see him stay but it’s a tough challenge for him.
WINNER: Vannata
METHOD: KO/TKO

Pearl Gonzalez vs. Poliana Botelho (STRAW)
Gonzalez was thrown in the deep end for her UFC debut against the undefeated Cynthia Cavillo. She faces another undefeated fighter in recently signed XFC stand out, Polina Botelho and the odds are not looking good again.
WINNER: Botelho
METHOD: KO/TKO

Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)

Walt Harris vs. Mark Godbeer (HW)
We hope Godbeer has worked on his cardio because he really struggled in last outing, and he is sure going to need it if he’s going to stop ‘Big Ticket’ from overwhelming him. Could be a tough day at the office for the Brit.
WINNER: Harris
METHOD: KO/TKO

John Moraga vs. Magomed Bibulatov (FLY)
Undefeated in 14 bouts, Bibulatov got the decision victory in his UFC debut back in April. We expect this one to go the same way.
WINNER: Bibulatov
METHOD: Decision

Thales Leites vs. Brad Tavares (MW)
Both fighters are at the same point in their careers which has included title runs, title shots and a lot of decision losses. It doesn’t come any more evenly matched than this. Leites chooses not to use his grappling these days and as a result, Tavares might just get an underestimated split decision.
WINNER: Tavares
METHOD: Decision

Matt Schnell vs. Marco Beltrán (FLY)
Both fighters gained contracts of the back of their respected TUF appearances. This time out it’s a case of having their contract taken away should they not come out on top. Expect a very cautious fight from both men.
WINNER: Schnell
METHOD: Decision
