SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 248 PREDICTIONS & GAMBLING GUIDE

Wed, 03/04/2020 - 17:05 -- David

They say if you don’t ask, you don’t get and that would certainly appear to be the case at UFC 248, after middleweight champion Israel Adesanya decided to call out feared veteran Yoel Romero.

Main Card (BT Sport 2)
Israel Adesanya (c) vs. Yoel Romero (Middleweight)
This match up can be seen in two different ways. One being untouchable rising star calls out much older, lower ranked contender in easy fight. Or young rising star calls out Olympic level grappler and one of the toughest fighters in the UFC o prove he’s not afraid of anyone. There will be a small percentage who feel the calling out of Romero will backfire but we think the title holder will be too much over five rounds. Romero is no joke but a late stoppage wouldn’t be out of the question here. We’ll go UD Adesanya.
WINNER: Adesanya
METHOD: Decision

Zhang Weili (c) vs. Joanna Jędrzejczyk Women's (Strawweight)
China’s first ever UFC champion has really found her way in the UFC. A phenomenal performance in her last outing will make her a big favourite with the bookies. A recent virus outbreak has meant Weili has had to travel and relocate on several occasions for her bout with the former champ. It could be said that JJ is not the force she once was but she must have been working on her ground game just that little bit more for this one. We think JJ is still a legit contender and based on the fact Weili’s preparation hasn’t gone as smooth as usual; JJ could retain the belt once again.
WINNER: Jedrzejczyk
METHOD: Decision

Beneil Dariush vs. Drakkar Klose (Lightweight)
Klose is up against a real challenge in the form of Dariush, a fighter who seems to have been around forever, but he seems to be improving in each UFC appearance and should hold his own. That being said, experience could well come in to play and a split second mistake could result in a third straight submission for Dariush.
WINNER: Klose
METHOD: Decision

Neil Magny vs. Li Jingliang (Welterweight)
Magny is coming off a spell in the USADA dog house following a failed supplement tests. With his ban now over he will be looking to make a statement. Unfortunately he’s up against a brick wall who in recent matches, has been partial to a knockout.
WINNER: Jingliang
METHOD: KO/TKO

Alex Oliveira vs. Max Griffin (Welterweight)
Once seen as a potential title contender Brazilian Oliveira finds himself in need of a win to secure his future in the UFC. For this reason alone we have gone with him.
WINNER: Oliveira
METHOD: Decision

Preliminary Card (BT Sport 2)
Sean O'Malley vs. José Alberto Quiñónez (Bantamweight)
Following time off due to a USADA ban (which also meant his foot injury made a full recovery), O’Malley is back in the spot light where he feels he is meant to be. Despite recent controversies, O’Malley is a very marketable asset to the UFC and will be looking to put on a performance for his fans.
WINNER: O’Malley
METHOD: KO/TKO

Mark Madsen vs. Austin Hubbard (Lightweight)
Expect to see another display of sheer brute force and dominance by the former Olympic medallist.
WINNER: Madsen
METHOD: KO/TKO

Rodolfo Vieira vs. Saparbek Safarov (Middleweight)
Trust us when we say there is only one outcome of this bout.
WINNER: Viera
METHOD: Submission

Gerald Meerschaert vs. Deron Winn (Middleweight)
One of the toughest bouts to call on the card. Winn came up short against Darren Stewart but prior to that had been on a big win streak. He’ll be looking to get straight back on track but Meerschaert might just have other plans. Leave off the accumulator.
WINNER: Meerschaert
METHOD: Decision

Early Preliminary Card (Fight Pass)
Emily Whitmire vs. Polyana Viana Women's (Strawweight)
Viana has struggled in the UFC and was handed her third consecutive defeat by Veronica Macedo back in August 2019. Whitmire might have the better UFC record, but a win over the former TUF contestant isn’t out of the question. Worth it for the upset.
WINNER: Viana
METHOD: Decision

Giga Chikadze vs. Jamall Emmers (Featherweight)
Having just signed with the biggest MMA promotion in the world, ‘Pretty Boy’ will be out to make a name for himself.
WINNER: Emmers
METHOD: KO/TKO

Danaa Batgerel vs. Guido Cannetti (Bantamweight)
Argentinian Cannetti just can’t seem to string wins together but should have the edge here. A relatively tough one to call so maybe leave this one off the accumulator.
WINNER: Cannetti
METHOD: Decision
