SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 260 PREDICTIONS & GAMBLING GUIDE

Wed, 03/24/2021 - 15:11 -- David

If it was not for the main event, it could be argued this card would be pretty week for a numbered UFC event (don’t forget it lost Ortega Vs Volkanovski due to COVID-19) so we hope it lives up to expectations!

Main Card (BT Sport)
Stipe Miocic (c) Vs Francis Ngannou (Heavyweight)
The first time these two savages met back in the summer of 2018, when fighters inside of an Octagon, were not the only ones allowed to hug, there wasn’t many people who gave Miocic a chance just like he has done before, proved everyone wrong. The actual fight wasn’t the most electrifying performance of Miocic’s career but just like the intelligent fighter he is, the Cleveland hero did what he needed to do. This time round Miocic comes in as the underdog again but we think you are going to see a different outcome and we do not mean a first round knockout for Ngannou. Yes, the Cameroonian-French powerhouse has the ability to put Miocic away but we think if Ngannou is the ‘Predator’, then Stipe Miocic is Major Alan "Dutch" Schafer. A statement is going to be made here and Miocic will show the world why he is the most successful UFC heavyweight of all time.
WINNER: Miocic
METHOD: KO/TKO

Tyron Woodley Vs Vincente Luque (Welterweight)
How much desire does 38-year-old Woodley have left in him? Can he hang with the higher echelon of the welterweight division anymore? I guess we will see on the night but our gut feeling is Woodley holds his own for the first round but then it is all Luque. Tyron Woodley fans pay attention, as this may well be the last time you see the former champion inside the Octagon.
WINNER: Luque
METHOD: Decision

Sean O’ Malley Vs Thomas Almeida (Bantamweight)
Although O’ Malley will tell you he is still undefeated, we all saw him get kicked to bits in his last outing against Chito Vera before hitting the canvas. O’ Malley is a pretty chilled dude, but that loss will have infuriated the former TUF star and we expect ‘Sugar’ to dance rings around his opponent (who just happens to be cutting back down to 135lbs again) before dispatching of him with one of his sniper like right hands.
WINNER: O’ Malley
METHOD: KO/TKO

Kham Worthy Vs Jamie Mullarkey (Lightweight)
This pick my backfire massively for but Mullarkey really is capable of producing the goods, he just needs a different game plan. Leave this one off the acca though as Worthy is no mug and it really is a case of whoever lands first in this one as we foresee an all-out brawl ensuing!
WINNER: Mullarkey
METHOD: KO/TKO

Preliminary Card (BT Sport )
Alonzo Menifield Vs William Knight (Light Heavyweight)
Both former contestants on Dana White’s Contender Series, both similar ages and both fighters are at the same point in their career. This one is more evenly matched than people think and although he has had a tough time in previous bouts, we are going to go with Menfield for the upset.
WINNER: Menfield
METHOD: KO/TKO

Jessica Penne Vs Hannah Goldy (Woman’s Strawweight)
We never actually thought we would see women’s MMA veteran Jessica Penne back in the UFC but here we here. After four years out (suspension, injuries, reduced suspension, Only Fans page) Penne is back in the Octagon against the much younger Hannah Goldy. Like many who found fame on Dana White’s Contender Series, Goldy didn’t shine on her actual UFC debut, and although the calibre of opponent Penne has faced is far superior, Goldy should be able to beat Penne convincingly. Put it this way, if Penne wins it will be one of the bigger upsets of this card.
WINNER: Goldy
METHOD: Decision

Abubakar Nurmagomedov Vs Jared Gooden (Welterweight)
As the cousin of UFC legend and recently ‘retired’ Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abubakar entered the UFC in November 2019 carrying the family name on his shoulders. Hid debut was rather disappointing losing to David Zawad via submission. We aren’t so sure he will bounce back in style but will no doubt hold Jared Gooden to the ground, making for a really boring fight, but for Abubakar it will be enough to make sure he gets the win this time.
WINNER: Nurmagomedov
METHOD: Decision

Early Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Modestas Bukauskas Vs Michal Oleksiejczuk (Light Heavyweight)
After clearing up on the domestic scene Oleksiejczuk got off to a bumpy start in the UFC (one-year suspension after failed drugs test following his debut in 2017) but seemed to pick up where he left off on his return. Of late things haven’t gone so well as the man who calls himself ‘Lord’ has been submitted two times in a row. This is solid match making by the UFC as just like him, his opponent Modestas Bukauskas, is just as lethal on the feet when he wants to be so submission attempts might be out the window, making way for a potential fight of the night contender. If the odds are sky high for a submission then go for it, as it could well happen, but we think fists are going to fly here.
WINNER: Bukauskas
METHOD: KO/TKO

Gillian Robertson Vs Miranda Maverick (Women’s Flyweight)
All eyes will be on Maverick once again as she aims to go 2-0 in the UFC at only 23 years of age. Robertson is no push over but her talents lie in grappling and Maverick will make sure this one either stays on the feet, or simply over powers Robertson with her grappling. A stoppage is not out of the question, but we will go with the young Missouri native to get a convincing UD.
WINNER: Maverick
METHOD: Decision

Shane Young Vs Omar Morales (Featherweight)
Facing Alexander Volkanovski in your UFC debut was never going to be easy but following a decision loss to the current champ, Young went on to impress in his next two bouts. Fast forward to September 2020 and Young found himself seeing stars courtesy of a Ludovit Klien head kick. He is up against Dana White Contender Series veteran Omar Morales, who is still yet to make his make his mark in the UFC. We expect the City Boxer team member to bounce back in style.
WINNER: Young
METHOD: KO/TKO

Marc-Andre Barriault Vs Abu Azaitar (Middleweight)
It is almost certain that Canadian fighter Bariault is only getting another fight in the UFC because his last one was a no contest. Prior to this, he was on a three-fight skid and although he is capable of beating Azaitar, he probably won’t though, and will be told his UFC career is over.
WINNER: Azaitar
METHOD: Decision
