Mike Rhodes is a 24 year old mixed martial artist from Waterloo, Iowa, that holds an impressive 6-1 amateur record and a 6-2 pro record.

When attending the University of Northern Iowa and working towards a bachelor’s degree in criminology, Mike joined a gym to get in shape. At that this point of his life he had let his weight sky-rocket to 270 pounds so he started kickboxing to get in shape, and has been fighting every since. Rhodes trained at a local gym in Iowa until he took a week -long visit to Roufusport in Milwaukee, WI. On this visit, he decided to move to Milwaukee and train full-time under the legendary coach, Duke Roufus. Mike started out fighting heavyweight, then moved down to light heavyweight, and now currently fight professionally at middleweight. He trains daily at Roufusport Mixed Martial Arts Academy, which has been voted and ranked as the #1 gym in the nation.

This gym also receives a high amount of media coverage due to the fact that many high profile UFC fighters come to Roufusport to train. These fighters include the likes of Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, Erik “New Breed” Koch, Alan “The Talent” Belcher, Bellator Champion, Ben “Funky” Askren, and WSOF Champion Rick "The Gladiator" Glenn to name a few.
